Nebraska Wedding Officiant

I’ll marry you, then play the reception.

I’m ordained, I’ve spent over a decade inside weddings, and I specialize in secular ceremonies — no scripture unless you ask for it. Whatever you want said out loud, I’ll write. Whatever you don’t, I’ll leave out. I’m based in Fremont, Nebraska, and I officiate across Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota.

The version I’d push you toward

Add the ceremony to your DJ package and it’s $750 — the same fully custom ceremony that costs $1,100 on its own. It’s $350 less because I’m already at your venue with the sound up and your timeline in my hand.

What that gets you that a separate officiant can’t:

  • One vendor, one contract, one person to call.

  • Your vows go through my system instead of the venue’s ceiling speakers. Audible past the fourth row.

  • The ceremony and the reception run on one timeline, because the same person built both.

  • No dead air at the handoff. The last word lands, the music starts.

  • If the ceremony runs long, I’m the one adjusting it — not the one being surprised by it.

Just need an officiant?

That works too, if I’m open. I take one wedding a weekend, and DJ couples tend to claim the date first, so standalone dates go early. Ask and I’ll tell you straight whether I’m free.

Semi-custom | $650
A call, a questionnaire, and a ceremony written from your answers. About twenty minutes, and right for most couples.

Fully custom | $1,100
We sit down and I write it from scratch — your story, your people, read back to the room in a way they’ll recognize. Rehearsal included.

Added to any DJ package | $750
The fully custom ceremony, $350 off, because your day is already mine.

How it goes

  1. We talk — call or coffee — and I get the story.

  2. I write it and send it over. You edit. Nothing on the day is a surprise.

  3. I work the processional cues with your coordinator and your photographer.

  4. I say the legal part, say the part that matters, and keep it moving.

  5. I sign your license and get it back to the county inside the fifteen days the state allows.

The paperwork, in plain English

  • $25 at any county clerk’s office in Nebraska. No waiting period — you can walk out with it the same day.

  • Good for a year, and good anywhere in the state. The county you get it in doesn’t have to be the county you marry in.

  • You need two witnesses at the ceremony.

  • You have to be 19 to marry without parental consent.

  • Getting the signed license back to the clerk inside fifteen days is my job, not yours.

Your county clerk is the final word on any of this — call them if anything about your situation is unusual. Iowa and South Dakota run on their own rules; ask me and we’ll sort it out.

Checking a date takes about five minutes and doesn’t commit you to anything.
